Board Members

Allison Schnell - President

Allison Schnell graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Speech Communication. During her time at the University she worked with elementary students on early literacy skills. After graduation, Allison moved to Florida to teach at a high-performing Success for All charter school. It was there that she developed her passion for charter schools and education reform. Allison moved back to Colorado and completed her Master's Degree in Education, specializing in Administrative Leadership at Regis University. She currently resides in Fort Collins, Colorado with her husband and two young daughters. It is her vision that developed Aspen Ridge Preparatory School. Allison's sister, an Erie resident and mother of a young child, saw the need for a charter school in Erie and urged her sister to use her passion and experience to develop a school to fit the needs of the growing Erie community.



Sherrie Reed - Vice President

Sherrie Reed holds a Master's Degree in Special Education and a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Northern Colorado. She has worked as a classroom teacher and administrator for 16 years. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Education Policy and serving as a consultant in the area of school culture, classroom management and school compliance.



Krista Burnell - Treasurer

Krista and her husband, Mike, live in Erie Commons. They have three sons ages 7, 4, and 2. Her oldest son, Dylan, is a second grade student at Aspen Ridge. Krista holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder. For the past six years she has been employed with Horizons North Credit Union and serves as their Vice President of Organizational Development. She enjoys both roles as a mother and a working professional.



Jeff Smith - Secretary

For the past six years, Jeff Smith has been an Architect with Tryba Architects working on a number of civic and institutional  design projects including the Denver Botanic Gardens and the History Colorado Center.  Between 1999 and 2006, he was an architect with three smaller firms in Denver and Lexington, KY.  During this time his work was focused on single and multi-family residential projects, along with some light commercial buildings. Jeff received his Master of Architecture from CU-Denver in 2001 and undergraduate degree from CU-Boulder in 1995 in Biochemistry.  Prior to his current appointment to the Aspen Ridge Board, he was a member of the Founding Board from 2009-2010 while the school received charter approval from the St. Vrain Valley School District.  During this time he assisted in the initial planning stages of the facility and was part of the team who worked with Irwin Companies to construct the Aspen Ridge facility.


Jeff has lived in Colorado for the majority of his life, attending high school in Castle Rock.   Jeff  has been married to his wife, Stephanie, for 14 years and has three kids: two daughters attending Aspen Ridge (Sawyer and Campbell), and a son (Beckett) who is aspiring to join his big sisters at school.



Peter Janett - Board Member

Peter was born and raised in Colorado, and has run his business, a web hosting and mobile application development firm called New Media One Web Services, for the last 16 years.  He has 2 daughters, Maya is 12 and attending Prospect Ridge Academy starting this year as a seventh grader, and Emma who is in Ms. Debord's 2nd grade class at Aspen Ridge.


Peter's office is right across the street from the school, and he often visits for lunch and volunteers, usually in a computer support role for school staff.  Peter designed and helped setup the network in our school's computer lab, and he and his company develop and donate the AspenRidgePrepSchool.org web site and mobile apps.


Peter formally toured as a professional musician, and enjoys being part of and building teams that have fun and make things happen.


Peter feels that the fact that "We ARE our school" is very important, and hopes to increase parent and community input and participation in our school moving forward.



Eric Guerrero - Board Member

Eric and his wife Reyanne have lived in Erie for 8 years.  They have 2 kids, Aidan who is a first grader at Aspen Ridge and a daughter, Madison, who just turned 2. While getting his Bachelor's Degree from Colorado Christian University, Eric worked in public safety as a volunteer fire firefighter, EMT, and a 9-1-1 dispatcher.  He then went on to obtain his Masters Degree from Colorado State University.  Eric is currently a Senior Director at a leading public safety company. 



Glenn Massarotti - Board Member

A fifth generation Coloradoan, Glenn was raised in Broomfield and graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in aerospace engineering.  He is a partner in a design/build commercial construction company, and has managed the construction of virtually all types of projects, including charter schools.  Glenn has been active in the Erie community for many years, serving as a town Trustee, Mayor Pro Tem, and the Erie trustee liaison to both the Boulder Valley and Saint Vrain Valley school districts.


Glenn and his wife Shannon have lived in Erie for 12 years, and they have two children.  Their son Colton attends first grade at Aspen Ridge, and his little sister Keira, who just celebrated her first birthday, is excited to be a future Owl.
