Aspen Ridge teachers took fun to new heights—literally—with the debut of our first annual Great Inflatable Race, a wildly entertaining reward for the top eight fundraising classes during this year’s Super Heroes for Stevie Day.
This special day, which we’ve celebrated for many years, holds deep meaning for our school community. It’s dedicated to supporting Cystic Fibrosis (CF) research in honor of Stevie, the nephew of our beloved Ms. Zehnder and one of the many brave superheroes living with CF.
This year, our National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) had a brilliant idea to boost fundraising efforts: add a new incentive that would get the whole school cheering—the Great Inflatable Race! NJHS students took the lead by using club funds to purchase hilarious inflatable costumes, tracking classroom donations, and designing the race course that our winning teachers would soon conquer.
And it worked—we raised over $1,300 for CF research, more than double what we raised last year!
The grand finale was a school-wide event that had students and staff laughing, cheering, and snapping photos as eight incredible teachers suited up in inflatable costumes and raced, wobbled, and bounced their way toward glory. Huge thanks to Ms. Zehnder, Ms. Mascioli, Ms. January, Ms. Johnson, Ms. Mangus, Ms. Hays, Mr. Pieniazek, and Mr. Malson for being such good sports and unforgettable racers.
We’re so proud of our students’ compassion, our staff’s enthusiasm, and our NJHS for turning a meaningful cause into an unforgettable memory. The Great Inflatable Race was a smash hit—and it's safe to say, this new tradition is here to stay.
