Revised Driveline Map

As we begin the new school year, ensuring the safety of every child is our top priority. Due to ongoing construction at County Line and Austin by the Town of Erie—and keeping in mind the continued growth of our school—we are re-routing driveline and implementing updated procedures for both morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up.

We are actively working with the Town throughout the construction timeline, and while this plan reflects our best thinking today, some adjustments may be necessary along the way. If and when changes arise, we’ll keep you informed and do our best to make transitions as smooth as possible.

Please review the following carefully and help us keep driveline running smoothly, respectful of our neighbors, and, above all, safe for everyone. As we adjust to the new flow, we strongly encourage you to allow extra time in the mornings, extend grace to fellow drivers, and remember that the #1 priority is getting our students to and from school safely.

🚗 Morning Drop-Off

  • Front doors

will open ten minutes earlier, at 7:50am

. Do not drop off students earlier than this.

Students will stay in the gym until classrooms are ready to open at 8:00am. The school day begins at 8:15am.

  • For morning drop-off only

    , s

tudents may be dropped off wherever the dotted green lines are outlined on the map above. (

Click the map for a larger image

.) You must travel north on Lloyd Lane and enter in the right lane to let your students out at back driveline

    .

  • PreK/Preschool drop-off starts five minutes later.

Playground gates will open at 8:15am for our PreK 4 students and at 8:20am for our Preschool 3s students.

🔁 Driveline Entry & Path

  • Enter both A.M. and P.M. driveline via Lloyd Lane

    .

We are reversing the path of driveline this year, so all cars must enter via the Lloyd Lane entrance.

  • Follow the arrows in

    two lanes around the turf

    .

  • Merge to a

single lane at the designated merge sign

. Follow the direction of the staff member and do NOT merge before this point.

  • If your child has already exited the vehicle at back driveline, you may use the

    easternmost exit

to leave the parking lot after merging.

🟢 Student Drop Zones

  • Students may

exit the vehicle only in designated areas

    marked by

    green dotted lines

    and

    green paint

. These areas are monitored and designed for safe, efficient unloading.

  • Pull all the way forward

until traffic stops, and have your student

exit the car as soon as you are stopped within the green area

    .

If everyone follows this process, Driveline will flow much faster.

  • After your student exits the car in front of the school,

    continue in the drop-off lane

or move to the left lane only if you can move over fully without slowing traffic. Otherwise, stay in the drop-off lane,

maintaining two lanes until the merge point

at the end of the parking lot.

🕓 Afternoon Pick-Up

  • Follow the

same entry path as the morning

    , entering from

    Lloyd Lane.

  • All students will

exit from the front of the building

    . There will be

    no back driveline

    in the afternoons.

  • Vehicles will be queued

all the way to the merge point

so that students are ready and waiting for you once you get to the front of the building.

  • Please have a conversation with your student and encourage them to

    come directly out to driveline

as soon as their name comes up.

⚠️ Special Safety Request

  • Do not turn onto Austin Ave from County Line Road

to access Lloyd Lane. Instead, turn onto Mitchell Way if coming from the north, or turn onto Bonnell Ave if coming from the south.

  • While there is access at the turn from County Line Road to Austin Ave, having additional traffic coming from this direction will make it harder to keep our pedestrians safe and our driveline process flowing smoothly.

💚 Seeking Volunteers

  • It takes at least 13 people to keep our morning driveline running safely. While we’ll fill as many spots as possible with staff,

    we’d love help from

    parent volunteers

    for full coverage.

  • If you’re able to help, you can arrive early and your children will be supervised by staff inside the building until school starts. Please reach out to Ms. Miller at rmiller@aspenridgeprepschool.org

    if you’re interested in volunteering!

We truly appreciate your cooperation, patience, and commitment to the safety of our students. Let’s work together to make driveline smooth, courteous, and safe for everyone.

Wondering How We Developed This Plan?
When we learned that the Town of Erie would be launching a major construction project at our closest intersection—one expected to last for at least half the school year—we’ll admit it felt a little overwhelming. But instead of panicking, we leaned into the same mindset we encourage in our students every day: Act and Adjust. Everything is Possible. The Time is Now. We knew we needed a solid plan—and also knew that traffic management isn’t exactly our area of expertise (education is!). So we asked ourselves, “Who would know how to handle this?” The answer was clear: the person who designed the drive-through for Chick-fil-A, of course!

We reached out to professional engineer Curtis Rowe, PE, PTOE, of Kimley-Horn Engineering—the very person behind the famously efficient Chick-fil-A driveline. Curtis took a close look at our site, listened to our concerns, and helped us design a new route that reverses our traditional flow to help get more cars off the street and moving efficiently through campus. While we won’t know exactly how things will run until we’re back in action, we feel confident—and maybe even a little excited—that our driveline could be running as smoothly as a Chick-fil-A line at dinnertime.
