Dear Aspen Ridge Community,
I hope this message finds you well and filled with the same hope and excitement that inspire us each day at Aspen Ridge. Together, we’ve accomplished so much—and I’d like to take a moment to celebrate with you.
Celebrating Our Progress
Our Driveline initiative has been a tremendous success! Thanks to your patience, teamwork, and commitment, we’ve achieved smoother operations, improved safety, and built an even stronger sense of connection among families and staff. It’s a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we come together around a shared vision.
We also have reason to celebrate in the classroom. Our most recent CMAS results show remarkable growth: Aspen Ridge’s overall “grade” increased from 51.6% to 72.5%. In simple terms, this means:
Our students are meeting—and in many cases exceeding—grade-level academic expectations.
Compared with peers across Colorado, our students are demonstrating growth above the state median.
Growth is happening across
all
student groups, showing that our instructional practices are working for everyone.
What we are doing in the classroom is working—and we will continue to reflect, adjust, and refine so that our students thrive academically and personally.
These gains belong to all of us: Mrs. Miller and her team, our dedicated teachers and staff, our hard-working students, and you—our supportive families. While test scores aren’t the only measure of success, it feels good to see evidence that our collective efforts are making a difference. Congratulations, Aspen Ridge!
Staying Grounded in Our Purpose
In today’s often turbulent social, political, and media climate, I want to reassure you of one of our guiding principles at Aspen Ridge. As public servants, our role is clear: to focus on teaching strong academics and building upstanding student character. Personal political or religious views have no place in our classrooms, and you should feel confident as parents and guardians that your children are learning in a safe, respectful, and unbiased environment. If you ever have questions or concerns about this commitment, I encourage you to reach out directly.
Looking Ahead: Growth & Expansion
As we celebrate our 15th year of growing Owls, we are also looking to the future. Aspen Ridge has been exploring ways to expand our campus footprint to ensure that both current and future students can benefit from the exceptional learning environment we’ve created together.
With the help of Neenan Archistruction, we’ve confirmed that we are already using our space to its maximum potential—it’s time to plan for more. This October, we’ll participate in a Collaborative Design Process, a one-day workshop bringing together staff, board members, parents, and students alongside architects and project managers. Together, we’ll brainstorm, refine, and align on creative solutions that will help shape the next chapter for Aspen Ridge.
This full-day session will be held on Wednesday, October 8th, from 9am-3pm. If you’d like to lend your voice and perspective to this important process, please complete our interest form. Your ideas and energy will be invaluable as we plan for the future.
Speaking of having a voice, we are seeking a new member for our School Accountability Committee, and would love to consider any interested parents or other community members. Please sign up here to express interest and learn more.
With Gratitude
Thank you for being such an essential part of the Aspen Ridge family. Together, we are not only building a school—we are creating a lasting legacy of learning, growth, and community. Here’s to celebrating our successes and continuing to dream boldly about what’s ahead. We look forward to seeing everyone at conferences in just a few weeks.
With gratitude and hope,
Charla Salmeron
Head of School
