Summer is the perfect time for adventure, and some of the best adventures can be found between the pages of a good book.
A book can take your child just about anywhere. One day they might be solving a mystery, the next exploring a faraway land, laughing at a hilarious character, learning something new, or setting off on an adventure they can't wait to tell you about.
Even better? Reading for just 20 minutes a day can help keep minds active and reduce summer learning loss before we welcome our Owls back in August.
Ms. Culver, our wonderful librarian, encourages all Owls to make reading part of their summer routine. Be sure to visit her Library Page for book recommendations, reading resources, and ideas to keep the pages turning all summer long.
So help your child grab a book, find a shady spot (or a comfy couch), and discover where the next chapter leads. Their next great adventure might be waiting on the very first page!

Summer is a time for fun, relaxation, and adventure, but it's also an opportunity to keep skills fresh and avoid the dreaded summer slide. That's why we encourage all of our Owls to spend a little time each day working through their Summer Bridge Books. They're a simple way to review key concepts, retain important skills, and head into the school year ready to learn.
Missed the chance to order a Summer Bridge Book last spring? It's not too late! Simply search Amazon for "Summer Bridge Book" and the grade level your student will be entering this fall to purchase a book. As an added bonus, all students who complete and turn in their Summer Bridge Book will enjoy Popsicles with the Principal when we return to school in August. Happy learning, Owls!

We're excited to continue our partnership with Ivy Camps for after school care during the 2026-27 school year! All the details you need are linked below!
New this year, Ivy Camps will offer full-day care on October 15th and February 11th during Parent-Teacher Conference Days. Space will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis for families who need care on those dates.
Even if you don't plan to use Ivy Camps on a regular basis, all ARPS families will be asked to complete registration paperwork this year. That way, if an unexpected situation arises and you're unable to pick up your child after school, they already have access to a safe and fun after-school option.

📣 Last call for EduKit orders! 📣
Skip the school supply scavenger hunt and spend more time perfecting your cannonball at the pool! 💦 Order by June 18th and your child's supplies will be waiting on their desk at Meet the Teacher Night. Future summer you will thank you! 😎

Ready to kick your summer up a notch? Join us for Soccer Camp at ARPS on July 1–3! Open to students entering 1st through 8th grade, this camp is a great chance to discover a new sport, build confidence, make friends, or sharpen your skills before the fall season. All experience levels are welcome, and the cost is just $30.
Register today at tinyurl.com/summersoccer2026.
Entering 8th graders (and those who just graduated) are also welcome to volunteer and help with camp. It's a fun way to stay involved, build leadership skills, and earn NJHS service hours over the summer!
Questions about attending or volunteering? Contact TimL@realcolorado.net. See you on the field! ⚽☀️🥅😎

Next up in our end-of-year highlights: Middle School Field Day!🎉🎖️🏆
Middle School Field Day may have moved indoors this year, but the fun was still going strong!
A huge thank you to our incredible PTO for keeping an eye on the weather forecast, jumping into Plan B mode, and creating a day full of friendly competition and memories for our students. When the weather decided not to cooperate, our PTO simply said, “Challenge accepted,” and turned a rainy day into a total blast for our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.
Field Day is just one example of the many ways our PTO helps make Aspen Ridge such a special place. If you've ever thought about getting involved, they'd love to have you join in the fun! PTO is a great way to meet other families, support our school, and help create memorable experiences for our students. Interested in learning more? Email pto@arprep.org to get connected.
Thank you, PTO, for making the magic happen! ☔➡️☀️💚
We had so much fun wrapping up the school year, and over the next few weeks we’ll be sharing highlights from all the end-of-year fun…starting with K-5 Field Day!
This day is always such a classic at Aspen Ridge, filled with friendly competition, nonstop laughter, and the added bonus of sunshine from start to finish this year!
Our Owls spent the day running, cheering, splashing, and making memories with friends while enjoying the perfect weather for water games and outdoor fun.
A huge THANK YOU to all of the volunteers who helped make this day possible. We are so grateful for the amazing community that helps create these special memories for our students every year! 💚

🍦 It’s the perfect day for ice cream! Head to Sweets Ice Cream today from 3 to 8 PM for our ARPS fundraiser! With the heat outside, there’s no better excuse to cool off with a sweet treat...and even sweeter, 15% of sales will be donated back to Aspen Ridge Prep!
✨ Bonus fun: We’ll have some secret ARPS staff scoopers behind the counter for part of the evening, so you never know who might be serving your ice cream.
🌽 The Erie Farmers Market is happening at the same time, so plan to park and enjoy a little walk through town before grabbing dessert.
Come celebrate summer, support ARPS, and treat yourself! 🍨

Calling all ARPS Volunteers! Whether you've helped in a big or little way this year, you've made a difference at Aspen Ridge, and we want to thank you! Stop by the Heart after driveline tomorrow (Wednesday, 5/13) to join us for breakfast bites and great company. RSVP here if you plan to attend. Hope to see you all there! 💚

Due to the forecasted inclement weather and an expected difficult morning commute, Aspen Ridge will have a Snow Day (no school) on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. This decision is being made now to help families and staff plan ahead.
The Character Awards Assembly originally scheduled for tomorrow will now be held on Friday, May 8, at 8:45 a.m.
Stay safe, stay warm, and enjoy the snow!

Tomorrow is a SUPER special day for TWO awesome reasons!

To kick off Teacher Appreciation Week, we invite all ARPS families to stop by the school anytime this Saturday, 5/2, or Sunday, 5/3, to write uplifting messages to our teachers and staff in chalk on the sidewalks. Chalk the Walk is a sweet tradition our teachers look forward to each year. They'll love to see the sidewalks filled with colorful drawings and kind notes!

Looking for fun plans for the last half day of the year? We’ve got you covered!
Sign up today for the Mountain Kids Early Release Camp (May 6th, 12:30-2:30pm), just for Aspen Ridge students. Drop your kiddos off for two hours of fun, games, and gymnastics!
We need a minimum of 10 students (ages 5 to 10) to make it happen, so don’t wait! Sign up TODAY if you want the fun to roll!

This Friday, May 1st, is a SUPER special day at Aspen Ridge! Our Owls are invited to dress up as a superhero and bring $1 (or more) to celebrate Stevie’s Superhero Day in support of Cystic Fibrosis research! Ms. Zehnder’s nephew has Cystic Fibrosis, and this is a special way our community comes together to support brave superheroes like him each year.

Get a jump on next year's school supplies by ordering an EduKit! You can do your school supply shopping in less time than it takes to get the kids in the car. Order by June 18th to have your child's school supplies ready and waiting at their desk when they walk into their classroom next year. Now that's a smart move!
Visit edukitinc.com and search for Aspen Ridge Prep School today!

Our NJHS students are hosting a Food Drive for the Erie Food Bank as their final service project! With a big need for summer supplies, we know our community will show up.
April 22–May 1: Send nonperishable donations to your child’s classroom. The class with the most items wins a spot for their teacher in the Great Inflatable Race.
Thanks for helping our students make an impact!

Field Day is hands-down one of our students’ favorite days of the year. It’s all about fun, friends, and a whole lot of sunshine!
To make the magic happen, we need amazing parent volunteers, as well as some donated items.

Your support will help create lasting memories and a lot of smiles!

Two Important Safety Notes
As we head into the final stretch of the school year, we want to share two important safety reminders so we can keep the well-being of our students and staff at the forefront.
As the weather warms up, we’re seeing more students arriving and leaving school on bikes, skateboards, scooters, and e-bikes. Please remind your students to walk their transportation on all sidewalks leading up to the school. We also ask everyone to model safe habits and use extra caution and consideration for pedestrians at all times.
A reminder for any adults with a concealed carry permit: all school grounds are firearm-free at all times, in accordance with SB24-131.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our Head of School, Ms. Salmeron, at csalmeron@arprep.org.
Please note that the Tropical Family Dance has been cancelled. With low advance ticket sales, it was challenging for our PTO to plan for the event (food, supplies, vendors, and more).
We know this is such a full time of year for everyone, with the long weekend pulling people out of town, end-of-year events on the horizon, and calendars filling up fast (and we're not even in "May-cember" yet!).
Our PTO is already looking ahead to future family events at a time that works better for more of our community. Thank you for understanding. We’ll see you at the next one!
